Amazing Game! I guess...

Full_Jackals_logo.gif
Although the Jackals game was rained out, it was still a great experience. The weather did have a great impact today because we weren't able to watch the game and we were in the rain. To get our food, we had to rush in the heavy rain and use team work to bring it back while one person held on to the umbrella and the other held the food. I guess it was a good activity for us to learn cooperation and teamwork which is always good to have in your life if you need help with anything. We waited under a tent hoping the game wouldn't get rained out. Boy were we wrong. It was raining so hard we had to use a campus bus to get back to camp. I wish i could have actually watched the game for my first time at the Write on Sports camp. At least before the game was rained out i got a chance to interview the Jackals manager, batting coach, and first base coach. When asked about how he felt about his team being in 4th place (out of 6) he responded that "it's not where he really wants his team to be." He also stated that on a scale of 1-10 it would be a low five because his team wasn't playing up to their standards. He also said that when his team is 14 games out from the lead, the outcome of the season didn't look nice. He also remarked that chemistry is the most important part of his team. The batting coach on the other hand, said he would like to see production from everyone on the line up. I wish i could have seen the game and see the batters play but that may have to wait for another day.

The Power of the Bulls

I had an amazing experience with the bulls and their practice. Although i couldn't take a video of their practice i had the chance to interview some players and the assistant coach. "On and off the field we get along." Luke Sassano says. I have to say i am surprised at the Red Bulls success in the friendly games. They beat Juventus which is a top team a shocking 3-1. Also, last season they were at the bottom of the charts, but as of now they are fighting Columbus Crew for first place.  Luke Sassano says that leap from last to 2nd is "unbelievable." Christine from communications said that it has to do with the new stadium because last year they were not playing this well. The Red Bulls may even sign star striker Thierry Henry! If they sign him their team would be the best team in the league although L.A Galaxy has David Beckham, and Landon Donovan. I cant wait to follow the Bulls for the rest of the season and see their progress.

Roberto Carlos: Amazing Free Kick

Real or Fake? Decide in the comments.

Jenny Vrentas

Today Bruce Harper and Jenny Vrentas came in to Write on Sports. It was a good experience for me adding on to Ms. Holloman, and Dave Skretta's interview yesterday. I want to focus on Jenny Vrentas today though. I really wonder how she went from biochemistry to journalism. She's covered the 2009 World Series, the super bowl XLII, and the U.S Open. She must be a very busy journalist. I'd like to talk to her and ask her more questions another time. I'd also want to experience more interviews like today's and yesterday's. Write on Sports is a great camp and i'd love to have more different experiences in this camp this year.
